The ‘Clean & Green’ Adama 21km and 6km Family Run will take place on Sunday 25th May 2008. This new event supported by the Oromia Sport Commisssion and the Adama City Government is the first time that Great Ethiopian Run is staging a half-marathon road race in its 7-year history. The half-marathon is open to all standards of runner but is designed specifically for Ethiopia’s top club athletes in the run-up to the Abebe Bekila International Marathon which takes place in Addis Ababa on Sunday 8th June. More than 3000 participants are expected to take part in the 6km fun run. The run will publicise messages about the need to look after the environment in one of Ethiopia’s fast-developing cities situated 100km south of Addis Ababa.
